| Brown congratulates Rudd, talks Kyoto
BRITISH Prime Minister Gordon Brown has personally congratulated Kevin Rudd on Labor's federal election victory and welcomed his plan to quickly ratify the Kyoto protocol. Mr Brown telephoned Mr Rudd from the Ugandan capital of Kampala, where he is attending the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM), shortly after outgoing prime minister John Howard conceded defeat last night. "I have talked to Kevin Rudd ... and congratulated him on his election and talked to him about some of the issues, including climate change, that we are discussing here today,'' Mr Brown told reporters. "Kevin Rudd has told me he will immediately sign the Kyoto agreement and he is proposing these binding agreements in the post-Kyoto talks that start in Bali in a few days' time.'' Mr Brown, who heads Britain's Labour Party, also discussed a range of other global issues with Mr Rudd including Iraq, Afghanistan and global security.
Commish awaiting NFL
Given his background in U.S. pro sports, Mark Cohon realizes there is no point in even trying to tackle the NFL if the mighty machine is churning your way. So, if a franchise is going to come to Toronto, as the first-year CFL commissioner fears, why not work at having a say in how it might happen? Cohon knew the questions were coming at his state of the league address yesterday and was prepared to spin and accept rather than dodge and deny. In fact, Cohon suggested the arrival of four-down football may not be imminent, but is starting to look inevitable. That he acknowledged as much is the first time a CFL commissioner has done so in such a public forum, and with such conviction. "I'm not sticking my head in the sand," said Cohon, who has worked for both the NBA and Major League Baseball.
The Tin Can Tools "Hammer" has 40 I/O pins on the bottom, and a 2 x 7 pin JTAG interface on top
According to Tin Can Tools founder Rusty Herod, the high-density connectors on most small boards present a barrier to hobbyists and smaller companies wishing to prototype complex designs. He explains, "You can connect a 0.5 flex connector to it, but you have to solder the other end to something. You may need a scope, and fine-pitched soldering gear, and a converter board to break it out to a bigger pin pitch." .

Former Cardinal linebacker Eric Hill is Sunday's alumni captain. Eric Hill was known as a warrior on the football field, a manwho spoke his mind honestly and played the game without regret. For nine seasons, he was the Cardinals' unquestioned leader. As the honorary captain for today's game against San Francisco, Hill is certain to receive a hero's welcome from the University of Phoenix Stadium crowd. But as for Hill, he would like to return that acknowledgement of appreciation. Not simply to the fans, but to a Cardinals’ organization which saw him transform from a brash, young, bulletproof rookie in 1989 into one of the club’s finest linebackers and team leaders since the Cards arrived in Arizona 20 years ago. "Every time I get the chance, I thank Mr.

Pave over the swamp
So. Now that the bottom has fallen out of the subprime mortgage lending business an occurrence whose outcome was so predictable that we can't help but shake our heads at its inevitability what do we do? Discussion about the inevitable bailout has centered on the companies that loaned money to anyone who had a shirt and shoes, as columnist Garrison Keillor put it on Sunday. That's predictable in our modern-day robber baron culture where effect happens magically without cause. We think a fairer solution would be to extend a helping hand to both lenders and borrowers, even though we have no great respect for either party. The companies that loaned money to the poor credit risks who borrowed it knew what they were getting into. .
