Briggs & Stratton Corp. said Monday that three of its executive officers have entered into prearranged plans to sell off shares of the company, three and a half weeks after the chief executive said he would sell some of his shares. Bush to revise rule on hiring illegal aliens
The Bush administration will suspend its legal defense of a new rule issued in August to punish employers who hire illegal immigrants, conceding a hard-fought opening round in a court battle over a central measure in its strategy to curb illegal immigration, according to government papers filed late Friday in federal court.Instead, the administration plans to revise the rule to try to meet concerns raised by a federal judge and issue it again by late March, hoping to pass court scrutiny on the second try. The rule would have forced employers to fire workers within 90 days if their Social Security information could not be verified. The government's proposal was a response to an indefinite delay to the rule ordered Oct. 10 by the judge, Charles R. Breyer of Northern District Court in San Francisco.

Kuldeep Goyal, CMD BSNL said that the company is planning to launch VoIP services with low tariff rates for the customers. Unlike PC to PC calling, the telecom operator is planning to launch phone to phone calling using the data network. "We will be inviting the tender for the VoIP in a short time. The entire formalities for inviting the tender has been finalized and will be announced soon," informed Goyal. When asked about the value of the tender, Goyal said that it would be of a small value. However, BSNL sources said that the company is planning to invite the tender by December. Through VoIP, BSNL plans to target the home user segment. According to the government guidelines, domestic calls cannot be routed through the VoIP network within the country. With falling Average Revenue Per User (ARPU), telecom companies are trying to introduce additional features to attract subscribers.
Uma Bharti attacks Reliance Fresh store in Bhopal
Bhopal, Nov 23 (ANI): Bharatiya Janshakti Party Chief Uma Bharati led a protest rally here that attacked a Reliance Fresh shop in protest against the entry of multinational and corporate retail chains in the country. Uma said such entities would wipe away the livelihoods of millions of small retailers and allied businesses. "Do you know one person of this family has gifted his wife a jet costing 300 crore. If he had bought it with the money earned through noble work or hard work, we would have been proud of him, but if he does it by crushing the livelihood of small retailers, it is very shameful," Bharti said. The opening up of the fragmented retail industry, which is dominated by family-run shops, has triggered opposition from some political parties and retail traders, who fear massive job losses.
